1 cup fresh bread crumbs (1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs)
1 egg
1 green apple, grated
1 x 40 g sachet
1 tbsp (20ml) olive oil or cooking oil spray
2 large red onions, thickly sliced
To Serve
sweet BBQ sauce
8 white round buns, split and toasted
8 slices Swiss cheese
100 g baby spinach leaves
Directions
Preheat BBQ or grill plate on medium-low heat.
Mix pork mince, chorizo sausage, breadcrumbs, egg, apple and McCormick Grill Mates Classic all Star Burger Seasoning together. Shape into 8 patties.
BBQ or panfry patties for 4-8 minutes each side or until cooked through.
Brush olive oil or use cooking spray on both sides of onion slices. BBQ or panfry for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, turning carefully to keep slices whole.
To Build burgers; generously spread sweet BBQ sauce over base of bun, top with burger, then cheese, onion slice and spinach leaves. Finish with extra sauce and bun top.
Recipe Tip
Chicken or beef mince is a great substitute for pork mince in this burger.
Stick a bamboo skewer through the top of filled burgers to stop them toppling over.
