1939 – 1940: BORN ON THE BAY
Gustav Brunn, a spice merchant, opens The Baltimore Spice Company in the Chesapeake Bay area, Maryland, and creates “Delicious Brand Shrimp and Crab Seasoning”.

1945: BIRTH OF THE OLD BAY NAME
Gustav renames his spice to “OLD BAY Seafood Seasoning” after the Old Bay Line, a Baltimore steamship company.

1990: A NEW BEGINNING
McCormick & Company Global Headquarters acquires OLD BAY into their ever-evolving portfolio of brands.

2022: OLD BAY GOES GLOBAL
OLD BAY launches in the UK & quickly becomes a kitchen staple.

2023: SPICING UP DOWNUNDER
OLD BAY launches in Australia! OLD BAY continues to build its name around the globe as a must-have spice for die hard lovers of flavour!
